She had been President of FASE Forensic Anthropology Society of Europe from 2009 to 2016.  Her research subjects are forensic anthropology and skeletal biology. In particular she is working in skeletal aging in the perspective of adult's age at death estimation and on identity factors, namely in anatomical variants and skeletal lesions. She is also trying to collect cranial data from several world regions to enlarge the existing data basis in order to improve the methods to assess ancestry. The research is done both with identified skeletons (the 21st skeletal collection) and medical imaging data. The goals are to increase the number of positive identifications not only of the routine cases but also of those of crimes against humanity and mass disasters.
