With this project we aim to contribute to a better understanding of the skeletal system change as we age. This knowledge will be useful to refine the methodological body of work of Forensic Anthropology. The key questions are as follows: what happens to the skeletal system during aging: is biological age really inscribed in bones and teeth? And if so, how is it related with the chronological age?
The clarification of age related changes will be possible through a multidisciplinary approach to a unique modern and forensic identified skeletal collection made up mostly of elderly individuals. Besides, research is being made in the Imagiological data basis of Coimbra Hospital (CHUC).
